May 2011: His name is Weche Ronald but everyone calls him Africa. His is always go-go-go! He is always the first out to the school yard to be playing football and the last inside. But this doesn't mean he doesn't study. Africa is very bright. He is very intent in class, and always tries to answer the questions his teacher poses to the students. Africa lives with his mother, father. brothers and sisters in Kireka across the street from CUS. Although it is encouraging that he has both parents, his father is an alcoholic and tends to spend the income on alcohol instead of food and school supplies for his children. Last year Africa spent two consecutive weeks at the school with the director because he feared going home where his father beats him, his siblings and his mother. This month Africa was given medication for de-worming, and was able to take part in a fun field trip to Wonder World, an amusement park, where he went on rides and tried to learn how to swim!
